THIS RARE 1796 LIGHT CAVALRY OFFICERS SABRE FROM THE FIELD OF WATERLO WAS ORIGINALLY IN THE COLLECTION OF SGT MAJOR EDWARD COTTON late 7TH HUSSARS AT WATERLOO – PURCHASED AT THE SALE IN 1909 BY BERNARD FRANK THE WELL KNOWN NAPOLEONIC COLLECTOR (1848 – 1924) WHOS IMPRESSIVE COLLECTION WAS DISPLAYED IN HIS PARIS APARTMENT FROM FLOOR TO CEILING ALL HIS ITEMS BEING LABELLED – ON HIS DEMISE HIS HUGE COLLECTION WAS SOLD OFF IN APPROX FIFTEEN SALES FROM 1935 – 1955
