FOUND ON THE FIELD OF WATERLOO WHEN EXCAVATING BY THE OWNER / CURATOR OF THE BROADSTAIRS WATERLOO MUSEUM IN THE 1970s – THIS HOARD OF GERMAN / PRUSSIAN THALER COINS WAS IN THE REMAINS OF A ROTTED PURSE PROBABLY DROPPED BY AN OFFICER AS SIMULAR TO ANOTHER BATCH FOUND & ILLUSTRATED IN THE BOOK “Waterloo Relics” (SEE PHOTOS)

ALL WERE ON DISPLAY AT OUR WATERLOO MUSEUM FROM 1987 – 1999 AND IN STORAGE SINCE A COUPLE WERE CLEANED – THE BULK STILL AS FOUND
