EXCELLENT 1907 BAYONET REISSUED TO RUTLAND HOME GUARD

This EXCELLENT Example of a BRITISH 1907 BAYONET retains most original blueing to the hilt & top of blade (forte) and is complete in its steel mounted leather scabbard with webbing frog – the blade having CROWN over 1907 – 9 – 18^ – WD ARROW – PROOF MARKS 27^ X – oil hole to pommel – No Regimental issue stamps but stencilled to the back of the frog is RUTLAND HOME GUARD –

REISSUED during WW2 to the Rutland Home Guard which was the smallest Home Guard Unit under the command of LIEUT COLONEL H.E.WHALEY – Their HEADQUARTERS was at OAKHAM
